The Kentucky-based company that owns the famed Churchill Downs Racetrack in Louisville is expanding its presence in the state. Churchill Downs has acquired property close to Owensboro with the intention of developing a new historical horse racing (HRM) venue.

This planned location will be conveniently situated in Daviess County, just outside of Owensboro, and will help Ellis Park Racing & Gaming’s live racing operations, which Churchill Downs bought in 2022.
