Chilean Gambling Authority Releases Responsible Gaming Advice

Di admin

Gaming authorities in Chile have released responsible gaming advice for players in reaction to the surge in gambling activity within the nation.

The Chilean gambling oversight body, the Casino Regulatory Authority, has published a set of safety recommendations for players in response to the increase in gambling activity in the Latin American nation.

The newly developed Ten Commandments of Responsible Gambling, a collaborative effort between the Responsible Gambling Company and the Casino Regulatory Authority, aim to provide guidance and counsel to players to ensure they engage in gambling in a responsible manner.

The advice includes: “When you engage in gaming, choose to do so for entertainment purposes, not to achieve victory. Bear in mind that you cannot influence the outcome of the game. Address your issues before engaging in gaming; if you participate in gaming to escape problems, you may temporarily forget them, but the problems will persist.”

The guidelines were unveiled to the public at a press conference, where it was declared that the gross gambling revenue generated by casinos in July 2021 amounted to $25.5 million.

The Responsible Gambling Company and the Casino Regulatory Authority stated in a declaration: “These Ten Commandments aim to provide advice to those who frequent gaming establishments to promote healthy and preventative gaming practices.”

These ten guidelines are part of the agency’s strategy to ensure individuals wager responsibly. This is due to the rapid expansion of the gambling sector in the nation, and the agency aims to contribute to its improvement. Recognizing that this extends beyond casinos, they’re adopting a comprehensive perspective and considering the long-term implications.

In July, casinos generated $25.5 million, a substantial increase compared to the $3.8 million earned in June. This surge is attributed to the opening of more casinos following the easing of COVID-19 restrictions. Although this figure represents only 58% of July 2019 earnings, it’s nearly equivalent to their daily revenue in July 2019.

In July 2021, 202,569 individuals visited the 20 casinos. This represents only 42.4% of the visitor count in July 2019. COVID-19 regulations continue to limit the number of people permitted inside casinos.

Since the improvements implemented in 2019, the number of individuals requesting self-exclusion from gambling has risen by 62%. Currently, 1,579 individuals are prohibited from entering casinos.
