Mississippi Sports Wagering Revenue Drops to 12-Month Low in July
27.06.2024
The Mississippi sports wagering income experienced a downturn in July, reaching its lowest point in twelve months. The state collected $2.9 million, representing a considerable decrease from the $3.2 million earned in June. This marks the fourth consecutive month that the state has witnessed a reduction in revenue.
Although the income was 123.1% higher compared to July 2020, the total amount wagered also reached a twelve-month low at $30.7 million. This is likely attributed to the resumption of sporting events to their regular schedule following the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 outbreak.
Coastal gambling establishments were the top revenue generators, bringing in $1.34 million, closely followed by central casinos at $1.28 million. The remaining $272,324 originated from the state’s northern casinos.
